When Everything Falls: almost 1,000 Hours in ARC Raiders and No Way to Fix It

The Rust Belt doesn’t forgive mistakes, and neither does the ARC. But what happens when the biggest threat to your survival isn’t a Hydra turret or an aggressive Bully machine, but a game-breaking quest bug?

With the massive Frozen Trail expansion, we got to experience the vertical thrills of Pendola Pass, customized outposts, and new dangerous territories. Unfortunately, some Raiders have found their progression completely frozen by a bugged quest line. Embark Studios has already acknowledged the issue twice in their official patch notes, yet a hotfix remains nowhere to be seen.

Imagine this: You’ve grinded through the brutal landscapes Topside, survived countless extractions, and poured nearly 1,000 hours into mastering the game. Your squad is locked in, your gear is optimized, and you are finally ready to reach the ultimate endgame. Then, you hit a wall. Not because the extraction zone is too hot, but because a broken piece of code physically stops you from completing your journey. Realizing that a thousand hours of dedication is held hostage by a known bug is the ultimate low blow.

The culprit? The camera mission “When everything falls”.

If you are staring at this specific broken quest and realizing it’s currently impossible to finish, you might be tempted to look for legal extraction points like the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN).

Before you prep your gear for a legal battle, here is the harsh reality of your consumer rights Topside.

1. The 750 SEK Extraction Limit (The ARN Threshold)

Just like attempting to extract with an inventory full of heavy armor parts, ARN has strict limitations on what they will accept. For digital services and electronics, ARN enforces a strict minimum claim value of 750 SEK.

If the amount you paid for the game sits below this radar, ARN’s system will reject your ticket automatically before it ever reaches a human reviewer. Your financial damage must meet or exceed this limit for them to even look at the case.

2. The “Skin Trick” is a Trap – Microtransactions Won’t Save You

We’ve seen some desperate Raiders floating a theory in the community: “What if I just buy some Weapon Stencils, Premium Passes, or cosmetics to push my total Steam/Xbox/PS5 receipt past 750 SEK, and then report the whole thing?”

Do not fall for this. From a legal standpoint, this strategy will backfire hard:

  • Isolated Transactions: ARN judges every single purchase separately.
  • The “Working Product” Rule: If you buy a cosmetic skin or a backpack emote today, those items work perfectly. There is nothing wrong with them.
  • The Result: ARN will completely subtract the value of the working skins from your claim. Your actual dispute remains locked at the original cost for the broken base game.

Trying to game the system will only leave you poorer, with an inventory full of cosmetics you bought for the wrong reasons, and still zero legal leverage.

3. High Friction, Slow Patches

Even if you did meet the 750 SEK limit, taking a gaming studio to ARN is a slow-burn strategy. It requires a formal, written demand that the studio has explicitly rejected, a 150 SEK filing fee, and a grueling 3 to 6-month handläggningstid (waiting period).

In the fast-paced world of live-service games, Embark Studios will almost certainly deploy a patch to fix “When everything falls” long before ARN even looks at your case.

Better Alternatives for Stranded Raiders

Since ARN is a closed door if your original purchase doesn’t hit the threshold, here is how you should actually fight back:

  • Signal Boost via Platform Support: Contact Steam, PlayStation, or Xbox support directly. File a manual ticket and include screenshots of Embark’s own patch notes where they admit that the camera quest is broken. Digital storefronts are known to make manual refund exceptions for products that are officially documented as defective, bypassing the standard “2-hour playtime” rules.
  • Keep the Pressure on Embark Support: Don’t just report the bug once. Ensure you and your squad log formal support tickets at the Embark Help Center. Mention “When everything falls” explicitly. When identical progression-blocking bugs spike heavily in their internal database, it forces their QA team to prioritize it for the next hotfix.

Stay warm out there in the Rust Belt, keep your shots steady, and don’t let a broken code line drain your real-world wallet.

ARC Raiders Quest Bug – NOT Solved

When the latest patch for ARC Raiders arrived, I hoped the glitch with this camera quest would be fixed. That wasn’t the case, but they have at least acknowledged it on their website. However, I didn’t find out about that until after I’d finished making this video. A viewer from the previous video pointed it out!

How to Prepare for Frozen Trail in ARC Raiders

// PREPARATION & STRATEGY

The massive ‘Frozen Trail’ update expands the frontier into a brutal, freezing mountain valley north of the Rust Belt called Pendola Pass. This major expansion features dangerous climate storms, the massive fallen corpse of an ARC Emperor, customizable Personal Outposts, deadly new ARC ground units like the Bully and Hydra, and high-tier endgame Frigate Raids inside a colossal flying mothership. Here is the updated strategy to maximize your progression and safeguard assets before the patch drops.

* IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that you will be in a much bigger rush to prepare if you happened to jump onto an expedition before this.
01 //

PROGRESSION & STASH SAFETY

All items in your stash, blueprints, and character levels are 100% safe and carry over into Frozen Trail. Your main character, level, stash, and Outpost progress never wipe. This is your permanent core account.

02 //

NO MANUAL QUEST RESETS & PROJECT COMPLETION

Do not manually reset your quests. Allow active projects to transition naturally into the patch to preserve all unlocked blueprints and vendor experience. It is highly recommended to complete your active projects, as they can yield valuable rewards such as a legendary Matriarch Core that carry over to boost your progress in Frozen Trail.

03 //

LIQUIDATE 100% OF YOUR ‘CRED’ CURRENCY

Your large numerical ‘Cred’ balance is being retired and wiped at patch day. Spend all Cred at traders now to convert disappearing currency into physical stash assets, weapons, and modifications.

04 //

HOARD AND CONSERVE YOUR ‘COINS’

Unlike Cred, your COINS carry over 100% into the update. Save every Coin to fund expensive Day One weapon crafting and Personal Outpost upgrades.

05 //

MAX OUT YOUR STASH CAPACITY

To properly store high-value loot and gear needed for Day One, maximize your physical storage space to its highest capacity before the expansion arrives.

06 //

MAX UPGRADE AND FULLY MODIFY STORED WEAPONS

Modifications (optics, suppressors, magazines) take up zero extra inventory slots when mounted on weapons. Fully modify stored guns to bypass stash capacity limits and hoard value.

07 //

HOARD HIGH-TIER CRAFTING MATERIALS FOR OUTPOSTS

The new Personal Outpost system introduces Weapon Amplification to upgrade weapons to Grade 5. Save rare materials now so you can immediately craft Grade 5 gear on Day One.

08 //

STOCKPILE SKILL POINTS & PREPARE FOR FREE RESET

The Skill Tree is undergoing a complete rework. All players receive a free Skill Tree Reset upon logging into Frozen Trail. You keep all earned skill points to instantly re-spec your character on Day One without leveling from scratch.

09 //

CONTINUE PLAYING FOR STASH PREPARATION

Playing right now directly builds up your permanent main track. You gain character level, accumulate Grade 5 crafting materials, and liquidate expiring Cred into physical assets for Pendola Pass.

DAY ONE READINESS SUMMARY

Your main character and stash are completely safe and will not wipe. Remaining assets are permanent. Make sure to spend your CRED before the update hits. Spend expiring Cred on physical gear, hoard COINS, max stash space, and save rare crafting materials for the new Personal Outpost system.

Arc Raiders Expeditions Before Frozen Trail

// EXPEDITION FEASIBILITY REPORT

The Expedition feature acts as a voluntary side project in ARC Raiders, distinct from the permanent Main Progression Track. Participating allows you to further empower your Raider, but it demands substantial resource donations. Below is the strategic breakdown to help you evaluate if it is worth the grind.

01 //

THE ADVANTAGES (PROS)

  • Bonus Skill Points: Earn permanent skill points to re-spec and further optimize your core character capabilities.
  • Expanded Stash Capacity: Unlock up to 12 extra permanent storage slots within your Personal Outpost.
  • Exclusive Cosmetic Rewards: Claim unique vanity items, including a rare outfit, cap, and account indicator icons.
  • Active Play Buffs: Gain active gameplay modifiers, such as a +10% faster repair speed and bonus XP multipliers.
02 //

THE DRAWBACKS (CONS)

  • Stash & Blueprints Wipe: Activating an Expedition requires a soft-wipe. You temporarily forfeit unlocked blueprints, leveling tiers, and unstored gear.
  • Extreme Resource Sink: Preparation demands hundreds of thousands of total value in currency, weaponry, and rare components to trigger milestones.
  • Diminishing Returns for Casuals: Unless you are highly active in the late-game loop, the permanent cosmetic items may not justify the loss of accumulated loot.

FINAL VERDICT

Expeditions are worth it if you have maxed out your Main Track, want to hoard permanent skill points for major reworks (like the Frozen Trail update), or crave exclusive cosmetics. Skip them if you prefer maintaining a steady arsenal and dislike restarting the early-game loop.
